“It would be awesome to be in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.” says Zlatan Ibrahimovic who could get his wish to line out in the Olympics.
His country Sweden qualified for the tournament after reaching the European Championships Under 21 final.
Their opponents in the final are none other then Portugal, that could see a potential Rio match up between Ibrahimovic and Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fernando Gomes, president of the Portuguese Football Federation, was pushed on the topic recently and he didn’t dismiss it.
He said: “We can take three players over the age of 23. Cristiano is one of the hypotheses, but we have still not sat down to discuss it.”
With Neymar and Lionel Messi already lined up for the tournament, Rio 2016 could be the latest addition to the bucket list for sports fans.
